This book is an important addition to any modern feminist’s bookshelf because it explains in clear language, using familiar examples, how the media co-opts feminists messages to seem more progressive while also simultaneously containing the power of that rhetoric. Ideology is most powerful when it’s least visible, so understanding how the media can appear to be more feminist than it really is is a very important thing for feminists to understand and be able to point to.

This book is important for any modern feminist because, like Prime Time Feminism, it helps readers understand how the media’s (re)presentation of the Women’s Movement helped frame the movement for the television-watching public. The book focuses on how the media reported specific events, such as the Miss America protest, from which the myth of bra burning emerged. It is an excellent book for anyone interested in the impact of media reporting on how feminism was viewed by the watching public and the possible consequences of how the media portrayed the movement.

Modern feminism has been a topic of conversation nowadays. And what is the better way to be knowledgeable in this issue? Read a book. Reading a book brings you to a different dimension so you can fully understand a specific topic. It somehow explains in different ways for easier comprehension. One book I can suggest related to modern feminism is: Body shaming, cyberbullying, rape jokes, name it, the author has experienced it all. In this book, she narrates how she has experienced those things and humorously overcame them. The book is intended not only to educate women but even men. How men’s words can hurt a woman unknowingly and unintentionally, so they should be cautious about what they say. Lastly, it is everyone’s bible because it makes everyone see the side of the victim, how it affects her and how to move on from it.

As a website founder, I also make time to read books for entertainment and educational purposes. I believe that it is one of the best ways to stay away from gadgets, feel relaxed and get lost in wonder while reading the stories. One of my favorite books that will also be liked by modern feminists is “A vindication of the Rights of Woman” by Mary Wallstonecraft, 1792. The author tells the story on how in her generation, women have gotten equal with men. You can be inspired and feel powerful while reading this, and feel proud as well because you are a woman.

The most Morden feminist textbook I ever have read. It is also far more accessible than I had imagined. If you’re searching for a historical introduction to the negative structures of beauty in society, this book is perfect for you. I recommend reading it and making up your own opinion, but most of the time it’s quite impartial and considers both sides of the argument. I would highly recommend this book to every feminist.

The book is about encouraging women, whatever their size, shape, and color, to work toward feeling wonderful about themselves despite today’s media-saturated culture through a 365-day action plan. When I read, I’ve stuck with the book so far, and I’m committed enough to finish out the year. The message of Beautiful You is extremely important for women. The authors remind us we don’t need to buy into all that negative garbage to feel good about ourselves. This book will help you build your worth. I recommend everyone to read it, regardless of gender identity.
